life happens. It's a tradeoff, right? but doesn't there have to be a middle ground, a realistic actualization of your aspirations?
After college, what you always suspected to be the case slowly becomes reality: things will not work out as you planned. You will get rejected from many nonprofit jobs; you will then take a job just for money; you will work long hours only to realize that you don’t enjoy what you do; you will use your college-educated brain to think about the ways your small contributions affect or don’t affect the world we will leave for the next generation.
Your small successes include happy hour, finally getting that paid vacation time, and actually having a savings account.
Episode 4 is a narrative piece that continues to follow the experiences of Mariah Ore, MSM's host and pretty much your quintessential millennial looking for meaning. It's a story about making it work, about making decisions...and about a mattress and the commitment it symbolizes. Namely, choosing a place to call home. Which can be hard when you're twenty-five and you just haven't found IT yet -- that thing. That thing that makes it worth it.
Also, it's about the logistical side of being idealistic -- not wanting to settle down, but realizing that it might be nice to calm down. At least for a little while.
